Standing orders are the written rules of Local Councils.  They set out a Council’s administrative and organisational procedures and the rules for conducting Council meetings.  They are to regulate and keep good order at Council meetings, also a way of combining the statutory requirements that individuals and meetings are subject to.  Having these requirements together in one avoids the necessity and impracticality of having to keep looking up the law, which would be undesirable in the middle of a busy Council meeting.

These standing orders were adopted by the council at its meeting dated May 2023 and are revised annually or when Legal updates occur.
