Christmas Light Switch On
Many thanks to all the residents and businesses that supported the Christmas Light Switch On. Due to changes within the Council the whole event was arranged in less than 8 weeks, thanks are expressed to all those that assisted. The new light scheme for this year looks fantastic and we thank Hurleys for the donation of the Christmas Tree. The lights were switched on by the winners of this year’s colouring competition. There were over 230 entries and Hockley Chamber of Trade kindly agreed to donate £1 per entry to a local charity, the drawings are currently on display within the Old Fire Station but are due to be relocated to the library so that they can be enjoyed by many.
Due to Covid pandemic and the short time frame there were less stalls than we would have hoped for, but we are hoping for next year there will be plenty more festive stalls. It was great to see everyone enjoying themselves. If you have any ideas or suggestions for the event next year please feel free to email the Parish Clerk at clerk@hockley-essex.gov.uk

Christmas Lights 2022
Christmas is coming………
The Parish Council will have all the lights and Christmas tree up in the village by the end of November. This year the children will find a Christmas Poster to colour and other activities on our website and facebook page during the weeks leading up to Christmas, the awards will be presented at the Christmas Light Switch On.
Due to the Covid impact and the uncertainty of the virus the last event was held in 2019. This years event will see a new festive light scheme, live reindeer outside of the Parish Hall and a free visit to the Father Christmas grotto located within the Parish Hall. If you would like a stall or would like to sponsor the event please contact Owen Hawkes
There is a charge of £50 for business stall holders and no charge for registered charities. All stall holders must provide a copy of their Public Liability Insurance and Risk Assessment with the stall application form. Please note if applications exceed stalls available then you will be advised. Thank you for your interest.

Hockley Christmas Lights Switch-On

The Parish Council would like to give a BIG thank you to all the sponsors, volunteers, performers, emergency services and stallholders who helped make this event a success and the community of Hockley who came along to support the start of the christmas celebrations at the lights switch-on. We hope you enjoyed the afternoon and will be back with us again next year. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
