Information on the Forthcoming Parish Council Elections

As you may be aware Parish Councillors are elected for a 4 year term, this May will the end of this current Councils administration.  If you would like to stand as a Parish Council for Hockley, please open the Notice of Election below issued by Rochford District Council.

Please note the process is administered by Rochford District Council, so please contact them to obtain a nomination form.  Please note the deadline for completed nomination forms to be returned is Friday 5th April at 4pm.  Should more nomination forms be received than vacancies then a poll will be held on Thursday 2nd May

Annual Parish Meeting 2024

Hockley Parish Council held their Annual Parish Meeting on 11th March 2024.  Chairman Councillor Barbara Thorogood presented the Councils Annual Report for 2023 – 2024.  Committee Chairman also provided a presentation detailing projects and responsibilities of the Committees.

Moment of Reflection

On the 13th September Chairman Councillor Barbara Thorogood placed a wreath on behalf of the Parish Council at the war memorial, local residents, school and businesses came together to reflect on their memories of the Queen. Residents are welcome to leave floral tributes at the war memorial.

Election of Chairman and Vice Chairman

Following on from our Annual General Meeting,  we are pleased to announce our new Chairman Councillor Barbara Thorogood and Vice Chairman Councillor Sue Martin.

All the Jubilee themed floral displays, sponsored by Hockley Parish Council, can now be seen around the village and at Broad Parade.  Our thanks go to Riverside Nursery & Garden Centre and Bruce and his team from Constable Maintenance who will be looking after the displays for the council over the summer.
